Returnee’s Life Report

Chapter 69

She opened her watch to call someone, and I was reminded that she was the president of the Hunter authority in the UK department. She was the one who decided the process of clearing the gates and manages every system here.

After her call, Sophie made a suggestion.

“How about fighting in a B-rated gate? There’s one nearby.”

Raul and I both accepted that offer, so we quickly went on our way.

We entered the gate and made eye contact. I had already realized this when I saw him for the first time, but he was quite a strong man. He had a similar power with Balmung from the irregular gate. In other words, he could probably defeat Musmahhu by himself.

He was almost ready for the red aura, which was even higher than my brother’s level. Considering that my brother was one of the strongest men in the world, Raul’s power was certainly impressive.

I could see the reason why he was known as the strongest Hunter in the world. Raul called out to me.

“Shall I start?”

“Do as you…”

Before I could even finish my sentence, he rushed towards me.

He was like a boar, a wild boar.

***

Raul Albanes. The man was a UFC champion who had never lost a single match. He became an awakener with a unique skill, and that made him the strongest man in the world.

Unbreakable.

That was his ability’s name.

It was an incredibly strong shield that protected Raul perfectly. It was his identity. With his unique skill, Raul was a natural-born fighter.

He rushed towards Lee Hwan and clenched his fist.

As Lee Hwan dodged the attack easily, he smiled. This was getting interesting.

Raul then immediately shifted his aim to Hwan’s leg. It was a clean, low kick, but once again, Lee Hwan evaded it and launched a counterattack.

The ground exploded, and a cloud of dust spread out. Everyone else covered their mouths as the dust dissipated and scattered around the area.

Meanwhile, Raul licked his lips. Interestingly, he never used such things as skills. That was why he always rode an airplane; he didn’t bother to learn teleportation skills. However, he knew how to use his aura. That made him the strongest man in the world. He was like a living bomb, the bulk of his powers coming from his physical ability. The simple skills he had were just enough for him to be the strongest.

‘Unbreakable’ was just a passive skill, automatically activating to protect him. It was like So-Eun’s regeneration. That was why everyone was afraid of him. No one else was a match for him.

Even if a lightning bolt or a tsunami were incoming, he would still rush it like a boar and eventually beat it up. No wonder everyone tried to avoid fighting with him. In addition, and despite his bulk, he was not that slow. Ho was indeed one of the fastest Hunters, but Raul was just a bit slower than Lee Ho.

His speed was remarkable as he continued to punch at Lee Hwan.

Lee Hwan dodged his attacks easily. Then, it was Raul’s turn to dodge. He saw that Hwan was coming for him.

Raul then noticed that Lee Hwan didn’t have his guard up. With his gold aura, he attacked. The blow was quickly blocked by Hwan, but it pushed him back.

Raul attempted to attack once more, and again, was blocked by Lee Hwan. He continued his barrage of attacks stubbornly.

The loud sounds of battle resonated in the dungeon, sounding as loud as a cannon or even a missile.

Like before, Raul launched a perfect low kick. On another opponent, it would usually be a critical hit, but he was fighting opposite Lee Hwan, who simply dodged it.

In the blink of an eye, he was behind Raul, who quickly turned around to face him but was too late. Hwan kicked Raul’s belly, pushing him back. When Raul tried to stand up, he found that Hwan was launching a consecutive attack.

Holy shit! How fast is he? Raul thought in astonishment. He had to rely on his instincts to dodge those attacks.

Raul stretched out his arm and grabbed Hwan’s leg. He thought that he finally had the perfect chance to throw him to the ground, but before he could do anything, his head was shaking. Hwan had just kicked his head with his other leg.

Raul had to let Hwan’s leg go as he felt a sudden, sharp pain in his chest.

He was pushed back, colliding with the wall behind him.

Raul opened his eyes just in time to see Hwan’s fist coming straight towards him. He quickly dropped his head to dodge the punch. He thought he was able to deflect it, but he was wrong. His head was hit hard. How did that happen?

However, that was just the beginning.

Crash!

His stomach was the next target for Lee Hwan’s punch. With yet another loud sound, his knees were now bent.

Lee Hwan continued his barrage of powerful attacks. Raul clenched his fists and tried to counterattack, but found that he couldn’t.

Lee Hwan struck him all the way to the edge of the wall and grabbed his face.

Raul could see that Hwan was smiling.

“You have quite an interesting ability.”

***

While watching them spar, Sophie was recalling her conversation with Raul as they were headed to the hotel with Gi-Hoon.

“Why on Earth are you here?”

“I’m here for you, darling.”

“…Don’t call me that.”

Raul burst out laughing and explained the reason.

“Manifester told me to protect you.”

“…Me? From who?”

“He said that the anti-Hunter organization would probably approach you for either recruitment or assassination.”

If it weren’t for Lee Ho, she would have told him to go back. But Raul had been sent by him. She couldn’t just ignore that.

Also, she knew that Raul and Ho were friends with each other. That was understandable. But an anti-Hunter organization? And her assassination?

Raul answered, “While I was on the plane, I thought that it was reasonable.”

“…….”

“I heard that you could see one’s potential power as well.”

“…That is correct.”

“That means that the person who has you will rule the world. So if they can’t have you, it would be better for them to kill you.”

Sophie got serious, in stark contrast to Raul, who was grinning.

“Are you scared?”

“…….”

“You definitely are, miss.”

“…I’m not.”

“I can see that your eyes are shaking.”

“……”

“You know that Lee Ho’s database is one of the best, right?”

“I know that. He might even know how many pairs of underwear I have.”

“Um… That’s something I don’t know.”

“And you probably never will, sir.”

Raul widened his eyes and exclaimed.

“That’s why I like you. And that made me like you even more.”

“…So, are you going to be staying near me?”

“For now, yes. That way, I can protect you. No one will dare attack you if I’m there.”

“I guess I have no choice, but make sure to keep a distance between us.”

“Snappy girl, but I adore you.”

Raul stepped back.

“Anyway, how much is my potential power?”

“…Do you want to know?”

“Yes.”

Sophie told him what she could see.

“Two hundred million.”

***

And that man with the two hundred million power was getting hit like a punching bag.

Crunch, Crash, Crash, Crash.

The sound of pounding flesh continuously resonated around them.

Hwan continued to hit Raul. After stopping his attacks, he grabbed Raul’s throat.

“Shall we stop?”

“…You are a monster.”

Raul was fine. He was not bleeding, but he had much less experience than Hwan. He knew that Hwan was not using his full power. Despite that, the strongest Hunter in the world had still lost to him.

However, that did not mean that he lost the fight.

He was not injured. He can still continue.

That was what Raul thought.

“Unbreakable, huh? I think you are relying too much on your shield. Don’t you think I can break that?”

“…Can you?”

“Of course I can.”

Raul burst out laughing. They were in close range, Raul could have attacked and Hwan could have countered him, but they didn’t do that.

Raul laughed again and said, “My skill has never been broken, but I can see that you are confident. Try me.”

Lee Hwan also laughed. He was certain that he could do it.

“I’ll try to stoop down to your level.”

Lee Hwan and Raul both meant it, but it was true that Raul’s skill has never been broken. Ever since awakening his power, he had never gotten hurt.

To Hwan, that was a bit strange.

“I thought my brother saved your life.”

“He did.”

“But if you’ve never been hurt, how did he do that?”

Raul laughed.

“In the Grand Canyon, there was a giant named Brontes. That giant didn’t hurt me, but he knew the weakness of my skill.”

He had never been hurt by someone, but he was almost killed.

“He covered my face with his giant hand. My mouth and nose were covered so I couldn’t breathe. When I thought that I would surely die, your brother saved me.”

Satisfied with his answer, Lee Hwan nodded, ready to go. In the first three seconds of Hwan’s attack, Raul was still confident. But in just a short while, he was left speechless.

With a loud, fracturing sound, he could sense that his shield was breaking.

Until now, no one had been able to do that. Even an SS-rated monster wasn’t able to do that, but Lee Hwan was doing it right now.

“I suppose you haven’t met someone who can use the aura well. Your skill is not perfect.”

Lee Hwan grabbed Raul’s arm tightly.

“Practice concentrating your shield on one area of your body. That will make you stronger.”

Lee Hwan didn’t loosen his grip, applying pressure to Raul’s arm. This way, he would learn more.

“My brother can break it. Now, do you understand?”

Lee Hwan threw Raul up in the air and caught him safely.

“Are you really a human?”

By this point, Raul had used all his power.

Lee Hwan answered, “What do you think I am?”

“…….”

“I like your simple thoughts. Also…”

Lee Hwan touched Raul’s head. He was smiling.

“Thanks for saving my brother.”
