Chapter 594 - Recruiting The Roxleys For Help(2)

Chapter 594: Recruiting The Roxley\'s For Help(2)

"Why don\'t you have a look? It will make the discussion easier?" Max said with a pleasant smile on his face.

Melinda gave the file a look, and shifted her gaze at Max before taking the file and flipping it over.

The next instant, her expression turned serious.

The file was similar to the diary Max had given to Omen. It was a bit toned down version of that though, and contained a bit of information which hinted towards potential dealings of the members of Roxley House with the Dark Society.

If Melinda could truly have proof of all these incidents, she would be able to wipe out any kind of resistance in her family. And, then she would have full control over everything. A situation like that was very rare, and would strengthen the family, and ensure long term stability.

"Why are all of these missing some crucial information?" Melinda asked, looking at Max.

Max released a sigh, and his expression turned into a depressed one as he finally spoke, "This is the best we could gather. But, I can confirm that all of these are true. There is not a single forgery in there."

"But, what can it do if it can\'t be used as concrete evidence." Melinda shook her head. Even though it provided her with information in greater detail about the incidents that she only had vague idea about earlier. It didn\'t have concrete evidence to frame the people responsible for that, and get them punished.

If she tried to do that on the basis of this file, she would only cause chaos. It might even force the elders to revolt thinking that they might be caught.

So, if she were to make a move, she would do it in a decisive way. She wanted a win in one fell swoop. There was no chances of failure when she made a move.

"Well, I never said there wasn\'t concrete evidence." Max threw out the curve ball. He knew that cooperation was possible. But, if he just went straight ahead at her, he was sure to be taken advantage of by the old witch.

Hence, he wanted to make it seem like she was the one who needed their help and not the other way around.

But, he had already suffered a loss by having his intentions seen through in the beginning. But it was not over yet. He could still do it. After all, she was the one who would be benefiting the most from this situation.

They were whipping the Dark Society from their base after all, who else would be lending them such a big hand.

"Oh? So, is there concrete evidence with you?" Melinda asked with interest.

"Not me, someone else has it.." Max replied.

That was a lie.

He had it with him.

Max just didn\'t want to give it to her, in order to make her desperate and willing to join the operation to get that thing in her hands.

"Who has it?" Melinda looked at Max, she could see that he was not being straight with it. It seemed he was leading him somewhere along the line.

"The Dark Society.." Max smiled.

Melinda shook her head as she finally started to connect the pieces around.

"So, you want to lure me in dealing with the Dark Society in order to get the evidence?" She asked Max with a smile making his face twitch.

Why did she have to be so hard to deal with?

"Yes!" Max nodded, if she had seen through then let her do it. The stakes were on the table, it was up to her now how she was going to approach this situation.

"You people are targeting the Dark Society...I see.." Melinda pondered a bit before finally coming to a point of making a decision it seemed.

"What do you plan to do with them?" She asked with a serious face.

"Wipe them out," Max replied in a calm manner.

"..."

A silence enveloped the two, and Melinda finally shook her head.

"Not possible.."

"Why do you think so?" Max couldn\'t help, but ask her.

"Well, correct me if I am wrong, but the Ancient Family doesn\'t have your back secured in this situation?"

Those words sealed Max\'s mouth. It was technically true, they weren\'t going to get any more help around here. But, he still believed that with the number of people they currently had there was a strong chance of victory.

"Why do you think they don\'t have our backs?" He asked her, a bit interested behind her reasoning for deduction.

"Because, if the Ancient Families seriously made a move they wouldn\'t need our help. It seems you people are on your own. I don\'t think it\'s a good idea to be going ahead like this. We will have to consider the citizen\'s safety as well." Melinda was no longer smiling, it was obvious that she meant business here.

"It\'s not like you think, we are not entirely on our own…" Max shook his head, and gave her a rough estimate of their strength along with their plan which made her eyes widen a bit.

"Well, that is certainly reassuring I guess," Melinda nodded as her expression eased a bit. "You can expect help from our side in that case, we will take care of blocking all enemies that you people want."

"Aren\'t you being too stingy? You are getting a lot of benefit from this.." Max stared at her.

"Well, we have people looking after the city as well. The Competitions are here, and we are really lacking people ourselves," Melinda said with a sigh, but Max couldn\'t help but feel skeptical about it.

"To think that even Noble Houses are lacking people," He said in a sarcastic manner, and Melinda couldn\'t help but laugh at it.

"Fine, then. I will send Roman to help you," Melinda said with a helpless look on her face.

A smile immediately leaked our on Max\'s face. Even though she was still being stingy with help, it was the Lord himself which was coming. That was certainly a big reassurance that they weren\'t there to mess around. But, were really serious about it.

That was definitely a big help, and would lessen their burden.

"Mom, we are going out!" Lora\'s voice came from downstairs.

She was leaving with Elly, Janet, and Lesia to visit Elly\'s aunt. Elly really had made her Aunt wait a lot due to all the drama going around.

Max and Melinda walked up to the railing and looked below to see Lora waving her hand.

Elly looked at Max and nodded.

And, then the group left unaware of the threat looming on them.
