Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 305

“Lord Vincent. The man employed by the Sunrise family left a while ago.” Eliara reported.

“You should have seen his face, Lord Vincent. Yes, it is hot in the summer, but he was drenched in sweat. I guess he was suffering from the Vincent effect...” Fliara casually said before her sister interrupted her.

“Sister!” Eliara interrupted. She quickly apologetically bowed and said, “Please forgive my sister’s rudeness. We accept any punishment for forgiveness.”

-What is wrong with these two? Do you have any idea, Detective Kazumi?-

[Hmm. Well, I suspect they stopped being awestruck by our unexpected actions and have realized how you are about to become a noble. I must be common knowledge that it is dangerous to make a noble angry.]

Kazumi tried to guess why they changed their tone and acted respectfully.

[But, hehe. They decided to respectfully address this un and coming noble who decided to kill a noble and steal his wife. What a hero this oddly familiar person is.]

[I wonder who he is, hehe.]

.....

Kazumi sarcastically teased Vincent.

*Sigh* “Please address me normally or however you want if I can’t change your minds. I don’t mind being addressed casually when there are no guests around.” Vincent stated.

“Thank you.” Both answered.

Vincent heard twelve bells toll in the distance. It was noon.

“Let’s head inside and place all the stuff you all brought in your rooms. ” Vincent said. He started walking and added, “Oh! Fliara and Eliara. Call for us if you two need anything.”

“Thank you. We will. ” Fliara responded while her sister Eliara nodded.

Olive, with Tusk between her arms, and Lian went to look for Ester, Lupa, Iris, Lilith, Sakura, and the three little girls Leah, Clara, and Beth. Maid Xu and Sofy should be still asleep currently as not half a regular sleep cycle passed for the both of them.

Vincent climbed the stairs and helped by summoning what he stored. First, they went to the room the twins were going to stay at. Vincent filled half of the room with training equipment and then helped the family set the beds and bedroom necessities to sleep in.

Two of the essential relaxing objects were finally placed, making the twins smirk. It was their mattress and pillow. Sleeping on a familiar bed always gives a good night’s sleep.

It was Tula and Yula’s turn next. Yula requested to have the large room she found when assessing the situation of the mansion. The room needed cleaning, but she and Tula were up for the challenge.

Vincent didn’t have much to do, so he decided to help with the power to store heavy objects and summon them where ever he wanted. He and Kazumi soon started to notice how the room was going to become too big for only two people.

“It’s this place too big for the two of you? Do you need a different room?” Vincent asked.

“I wanted all the kids to sleep in one place with me as their guardian. I can watch over them at night since I will be working on the day shift. I already confirmed with Head Maid Xu Xao Long about my positions when we were alone.” Yula answered.

[Yula is correct if that is the case. The children need a mother figure, and Yula is the perfect candidate. She raised a daughter and then twins. Managing kids of age six and older shouldn’t be too difficult.]

Vincent nodded and said, “It looks like it will take some time to finish...”

“Leave here to us, teacher.” Lenn said, and his brother Renn quickly added, “We will use this as training. Teacher can take out the beds and leave everything to us.”

[Lenn and Renn seem interested in lifting mattresses and bed frames in the name of training, haha. Well, more time to ask the others about what happened with the Sunrise construction estimation man that sweated bullets.]

Vincent nodded and did as the twins asked. He received the condor from Tula’s embrace, and Plow followed him downstairs. Contrary to what Tula said about liking furry animals, she appeared to want to hold the condor for a bit longer and look at its sleeping face.

Vincent was descending the stairs, and when his foot touched the floor, he heard someone running and energetically greet, “My mate, you are back.”

“Come with me, my mate. Sakura started acting weird when she heard you returned. Her face is red, and she doesn’t want to see you.” Lupa informed.

“...” Vincent stopped thinking for a moment.

First, he heard of a problem regarding Sakura. Then he heard how it might not be a problem to worry about.

[This impatient wolf always cracks me up. Sakura must be embarrassed after the Sunrise Construction Company is going to build a workshop for her.]

Vincent and Plow followed Lupa and soon arrived at the cleaned wooden gazebo. It was lively, filled with smiles and giggles.

Leah, Clara, and Beth were petting the little boar, Tusk. On the other hand, Olive and Lian sat on a chair and mostly chatted with Ester and Iris.

Lilith looked like she needed more time to get accustomed to being near many people, while Sakura was nervous about Vincent’s appearance.

Sakura didn’t know how she could express her thanks as her situation with Vincent was vague. Apart from being a retainer and a person Vincent could trust, their relationship progress was still paused.

“We are here. ” Announced Lupa. However, her eyes hovered on the condor Nix in Vincent’s hands.

The three little girls turned their heads and said with a smile, “It’s Mister Vincent. We like the little pig very much.”

“It is two months old, so treat it carefully and gently.” He said before passing them and approaching the gazebo.

“Welcome back, Vincent. It’s been a rough morning for us, unlike yours. Olive and Lian said they had fun.” Ester said.

Ester didn’t have a sad expression on her face, but her choice of words made Vincent and Kazumi question what happened while he was gone.

“T-thank you for caring about us gob... demigoblins. Olive and Lian are happy.” Iris responded next. She seemed content watching the two demigoblins smiling happily.

“W-welcome... back.” Lilith slowly said. It appeared she needed some time to get used to being surrounded by so many people who she doesn’t know that much.

However, the fourth woman. The tallest one sitting on a chair and extruding a weird mixed feeling of intimidation and weakness at the same time didn’t say a word. Sakura averted her gaze, but her blushing cheeks could still be seen.

Vincent sat on a chair and said, “The architect making the estimation must have tired you with questions then. I told him to leave what he sees here, so I hope he wasn’t rude or caused trouble.”

“It’s not trouble, perse....” Ester looked at Iris and continued, “That man fainted when he saw Sakura. Iris had to use a spicy herb to wake him up after we...”

Ester slightly blushed. “We left him on the ground for maybe ten minutes...”

[...]

“...”

Both Vincent and Kazumi became surprised when the man was the one who suffered and not the other way around.

Lilith focused her gaze on Vincent and felt calmer than before. The aura around her changed, and she looked less afraid to speak than before.

“After the architect woke up, Sakura and I later kept the guest company. We discussed the requirements Sakura needed to construct the workshop with her specifications. ” Lilith spoke confidently while her eyes didn’t leave Vincent. Ester, Iris, and Sakura were surprised to see Lilith act normally. She was like a different person to them.

“That’s great. But do any of you girls know the specifics? For example, the size and workforce needed to build the workshop? We have to hide Sakura, Olive, and Lian if many people are going to enter our property for construction.” Vincent asked. He wanted to know in detail so that he and Kazumi could plan a countermeasure or two.

“Sakura can divulge most of the information I could not understand at the time...” “I regret to inform you that I wasn’t at my best, and I don’t understand blacksmithing jargon either. ” Lilith said after pausing for a moment.

“My mate, is that bird food?” Asked Lupa while she licked her lips.

Lupa abruptly broke the mood as her eyes couldn’t stray away from the sleeping condor wrapped in cloth. Her eyes liked what they saw, yet she felt strange about eating the condor, and yet, her stomach wanted to eat.

Lupa felt a faint Vincent-like scent emitting from the condor. She had also noticed the boar had a similar scent.

However, it was far different than Plow’s scent.

Lupa considered Plow’s scent similar to a couple of drops of mutated blood, while the two new arrivals’ scent was similar to a minuscule, barely detectable drop of mutated blood.

Lupa could unintentionally and vaguely tell how much Plow had much more of Vincent’s mutated blood strain than Tusk and Nix.

*Cough, chough* “No, Lupa, the condor is not food.” Vincent replied to stop Lupa from asking to eat Nix and make Lian cry.

“This condor is Nix. Lian seems to like it a lot. The boar is Tusk. Olive seems to like it a lot. Additionally, both the condor and the boar are untamed familiars, but I guess their owners have already been decided.” Vincent said.

Vincent got up and gave the sleepy condor to Ester while he looked at Iris and Lilith, “Could you three take care of Nix?”
