A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 100

Receiving such a gentle and affectionate gesture made Anxia’s heart constrict even more. She still couldn’t think of the possibility that Richard genuinely cared for her. She still believed that Richard’s attitude and actions towards her were only because she was a woman who had given birth to his child.

Despite that, Anxia allowed herself to be comfortably hugged by the man. Anxia buried her head into the crook of Richard’s neck and quietly enjoyed the fresh scent from her husband. Warm pats on her hands and affectionate caresses on the back, what more could she ask for?

It didn’t matter whether this man truly valued her or was only doing a husband’s duty because. Anxia should be satisfied.

Anxia was an assassin, a hitman who worked for Master Yu for years. She has taken many lives without hesitation and didn’t even flinch at the sight of mutilated human limbs.

She was a sinner and should get a spouse as rotten as her. At least she wouldn’t feel guilty or pressured if her partner was someone like Wang Xuemin, a sniper.

Anxia could kill the man anytime as soon as he betrayed her or intended to leave her. She was sure that Xuemin would also do the same to her.

But Anxia couldn’t think the same way when it came to Richard.

In the first place, she wouldn’t feel guilty if she wanted to kill Richard. She would often even reveal her murderous aura in front of that man, but Richard always faced her upfront fearlessly. He could counterattack her nonchalantly and even threaten her, but the next second, he was gentle.

.....

Richard’s erratic changes in demeanor also overwhelmed her, but she didn’t feel any malice whenever Richard approached her.

Anxia didn’t understand how Richard could not hate her after what she had done to him.

Even if Richard wanted to be responsible and provide a complete family for Lori, normal men would still hate her. Another man might be planning to snatch Lori from her and wouldn’t let her meet her only baby. But Richard didn’t do it.

“Are you still sad?” asked Richard gently, bringing back her sense.

“I’m not sad.” Anxia was lying. She could lie and fool everyone but Richard. He could still detect her lies, especially since Anxia failed to conceal her downcast eyes.

“You still don’t want to tell me what you’re thinking?” although Richard knew Anxia had lied, Richard did not expose it and tried another way.

“I’m just getting tired of this place. When are we going to leave here?”

“If you want, we can leave tomorrow.”

Hearing this unexpected answer made Anxia widen in disbelief. Anxia raised her head to look at the man’s expression to investigate whether the man meant what he said.

Anxia had tried to persuade Richard to leave the island, which failed every time, but now he was willing to depart only because she was tired of this place?

“Tomorrow? Isn’t that too sudden?”

“I hate seeing you depressed like this. If living here stresses you out, we better get out of here as soon as possible.”

“You’re not afraid that I’ll run away?”

“Do you still want to leave me?” Richard answered her question with another question.

Anxia shook her head before answering, “I have no plans to leave.”

“I believe you.”

Richard’s unconditional faith in her caught Anxia’s breath. She expected he would ask for some proof to guarantee she wouldn’t escape, but he just believed her?

Furthermore, Richard confessed that he hated seeing her depressed. Does that mean Richard was willing to take the risk that Anxia would plan an escape just so as not to stress herself out?

Anxia couldn’t describe how she felt right now. It was as if beautiful colorful plants grew on her heart to the point of overwhelming her. Her joy soon replaced unhappiness as if she had won some trophy.

Anxia didn’t know why she was this happy as she had never felt this cheerfulness. She only knew a warmth enveloped her heart as if she saw a sun for the first time, for she had lived in the darkness.

Noticing how Richard looked at her made Anxia realize that her husband had totally won over her. Richard had occupied most of her mind, heart, and soul. Even if Richard wished to get rid of her, Anxia doubted she was willing to leave.

“Are you feeling better now?” Richard heaved a relieved sigh to see a thin smile appear on Anxia’s lips. Her starry black eyes had their sparkling back, indicating that his wife was no longer sad.

“Can I kiss you?” Anxia’s question made a certain heart stop beating as if time around them had frozen.

Not long after, Richard showed a wide bright smile with thrilled eyes as if he was excited to do something. His reaction toward her request caused Anxia’s heart to pound wildly.

That smile... that looks... it was similar to what she saw in the photo on Calydta’s phone.

‘Is he that happy to hear her request?’

“Xia Xia, you don’t need to ask.”

Anxia couldn’t control her pounding heart and felt she couldn’t breathe when a large hand caressed her cheek and then led her closer.

Every second felt like an hour, making Anxia impatient. But she wasn’t in a hurry and enjoyed the moment when their faces were getting closer and closer.

The smaller the distance between them, the more Anxia felt her husband’s breath and vice versa. After it felt like hours had passed, but only seconds had passed, two pairs of lips pressed against each other.

There was no lust or passion but the outpouring of each feeling.

Both were satisfied and enjoyed the sweet moment with a non-aggressive yet lingering kiss. They spent the afternoon looking up at the mountain while waiting for their baby to wake up from her beautiful slumber.
