A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 178 - 178 Ch. 178 Anxia And Michele’s New Bond

“How is it?” Michele chuckled in amusement to see how Anxia’s eyes couldn’t shift away from her soup.

“It’s the same.”

“You still remember it?”

“Of course, mother’s soup is the best in the world.”

Michele laughed at Anxia’s praise of the late Mrs. Wong’s soup. Her heart felt warm and happy because it turned out that Anxia still remembered everything while she was living in her family’s house.

“Try this.” Michele scooped out the soup with a tablespoon, then blew it so it wouldn’t be too hot when Anxia tasted it. Michele and Anxia’s act was so friendly that the Calvin twins froze in place. They were like being struck by lightning when they saw their familiarity.

They already knew there was no more prolonged hostility between the two ladies at night when they walked on the Thames. But their intimacy at that time was nothing compared to now.

The two of them looked like best friends… No. The more appropriate word is―they were an older sister who was cooking her sister’s favorite dish and the younger sister accompanying her older sister.

.....

“Michele, me, too. I want to try it.” Harmonie protested, feeling she couldn’t fit between her two sisters-in-law. Michele did the same to give it to Harmonie, without knowing her husband with others were watching their interaction.

“Ehem… Ehem…” Richard was the first to clear his throat to attract the attention of the three girls, who seemed completely oblivious to their return.

“Oh, you guys are home already? Michele is cooking a special soup for Anxia.”

“Does that mean we don’t get a share?” asked Richard, looking at his wife with a mischievous look.

“Didn’t you hear? This special soup is just for me. Of course, you won’t get a share.” Anxia shifted her attention to Raymond and said, “You will get your wife’s share.” Her last remark caused her husband’s lips to twitch.

“Xia Xia, you’re being unfair to me.”

“Am I?” countered Anxia with a mischievous smirk, making Richard helplessly shake his head while snaking his hand on her slender waist to hug her.

Soon Michele finished her cooking, and with the help of the maids, they moved other dishes such as salad, bacon, and others to be served on the dining table. Then they all enjoyed their lunch together in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Richard and Raymond seemed even more comfortable as their wives’ relationship finally found its way out.

However, Raymond and Richard couldn’t help feeling sad at the closeness of their two wives. Michele was sitting next to Anxia, with Lori and Eugene between them. Like it or not, Richard and Raymond had to sit side by side facing their two wives.

In the end, Richard and Raymond sighed resignedly and let their two wives do whatever they wanted. After all, both ladies smiled brightly, accompanied by their children’s laughter. They could understand Anxia and Michele tried to cover up the hole of their separation after the two made up.

When they had all finished eating their lunch, Stanley opened his voice to discuss the shooting case that occurred a few days ago.

“Anxia, ??what about your injuries?”

“It’s all healed, father. I’m sorry to make you all worry, and I promise something like this won’t happen again.”

Stanley shook his head in response to Anxia’s apology. “You don’t need to apologize between family members. But if you want to apologize, shouldn’t you be sorry for acting carelessly? You shouldn’t act alone and face the enemy alone.”

“I understand. I will not do it again.” Anxia gave a faint smile as she answered her father-in-law.

Anxia didn’t feel offended by being told she had acted carelessly. On the contrary, she felt something foreign fill her heart―it was like she was in some place of comfort and solace when she heard her father-in-law’s worries.

“Good. I have something to inquire about. Who is he? Why did he shoot you and then help you?”

“Wang Xuemin.” Anxia didn’t feel guilty or regretful about telling Stanley the name of her former partner. “He used to be my partner, and I think he still considers me a friend, so he saved me.”

“Then why did he target Michele?”

“…” Anxia didn’t know what kind of answer she should give at all. Her relationship with Michele was getting better, even better than when she was a child. Anxia didn’t want to damage it or exchange it for anything.

So, Anxia decided to lie. “The real target is me, and he purposely shot at Michele, knowing I would move to protect her.”

Richard raised an eyebrow at this answer while Stanley looked at his daughter-in-law with disbelief, as if he knew Anxia was lying.

“He had to do something to injure me so that his comrades would not suspect him. It was only after all of his comrades came out to ambush me that he stepped in and killed them all,” explained Anxia in a calm tone from beginning to end. There was no doubt or fear that someone would detect her lies.

Well, Anxia wasn’t completely lying. She had indeed lied when she said Xuemin’s real target was her. But she wasn’t lying when she stated that Xuemin had deliberately waited for all of his comrades to attack Anxia so that the sniper could kill them all without fighting.

“Okay. Now, what are you going to do? It seems one of the heads of Len’s triad isn’t going to let you off the hook just like that.”

At first, Anxia believed Stanley’s previous question was difficult to answer. But the older man proved her wrong. This question was twice as difficult for her to answer.

She herself… didn’t know what to do after this either.

Master Yu already learned she lives in London. That ruthless man undoubtedly knew that Anxia had a family and raised a daughter.

To be honest … Anxia didn’t know what to do.
