A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 209 - 209 Ch. 209 What Can I Do For You?

The next question is, where did Anxia go? Who did Anxia meet? As far as he could remember, there wasn’t a single person in this world who could bully Anxia. Who had made his wife cry so desperately like this?

His wife’s wailing was still so loud that he was sure that Anxia would not stop crying for the next few minutes. He started tingling in his knees from being bent on the floor for so long while supporting his wife’s weight.

Even so, Richard didn’t complain—he patted her gently on the back, patiently and caringly, while repeatedly kissing her head.

He made sure his wife sat on his lap comfortably, no matter whether his body would become sore after this or not. He was more concerned with the comfort and peace of his wife than himself.

It’s just… his mind keeps thinking about the possibility that there is something that can make his wife cry until she roars like this. It was possible that his wife met a stranger and accidentally argued with that person, and for the first time, Anxia lost. Is that why Anxia crying?

No. Anxia was not that crybaby over a losing word. However, if it was indeed the case, Richard wanted to find out that person’s identity and would repay him many times. How dare that person make his wife cry to despair like this?

After what seemed an eternity, Anxia’s cries began to subside—her sobs still escaped her lips, but she calmed down in Richard’s arms. Richard breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his wife’s sadness lessen. He was about to ask his wife, who had been bullying Anxia when his eyes accidentally caught something.

Richard saw a white rectangular envelope behind his wife’s feet. He wondered what that was and pondered if it was the cause of his wife’s sorrowful cry.

.....

Using one hand, Richard took the envelope and frowned when he saw the writing on the envelope. He realized that this envelope was a letter from the hospital when someone finished doing a specific test.

Did his wife come to the hospital today? What for? Is she sick? Why not tell him so he can accompany her to the hospital? Obviously, Richard didn’t notice that Anxia had been calling him all day due to his tight schedule at the company.

With a smooth movement, Richard opened the envelope and pulled out the paper containing the report on the results of any tests his wife had performed. Richard did not really understand the terms listed there, but when he read the report’s conclusion, his heart seemed to stop at that moment.

Richard gripped the paper in one hand and shaped it into a small ball of paper. He understood why his wife was so sad because he also felt the same. Richard threw the report along with the white envelope somewhere and then hugged his wife tightly while burying his face in the crook of her neck.

At first, Anxia didn’t know that Richard had read the results of her obstetrical test, but when she heard the rustling-like sound of paper, she knew that Richard had read it.

Anxia’s tears flowed again when she felt her husband hug her tightly. She didn’t hear the man’s voice but felt her neck wet with tears. Just like her, Richard was also grieving because they would not be able to have children again after this.

In the end, they hugged each other in the same position for many minutes—neither made a sound nor comforted each other because their presence by each other’s side was enough to soothe their grieving souls.

“Xia Xia, tell me. What can I do for you?”

Richard’s concern touched Anxia’s heart, and slowly warmth filled her heart. After learning that Anxia would not be able to give birth to another child for Richard, the man still didn’t blame her and wanted to comfort her. Even though the man was also grieving, Richard still prioritized his wife’s contentment.

Anxia didn’t know whether she felt happy or regretful. Only she knew she was happiest, knowing that Richard would never throw her away. She was relieved that Richard didn’t blame or make fun of her for thinking this was her karma from past sins.

At the same time, she felt regret. If Anxia hadn’t drugged Richard back then, they wouldn’t have met and fallen in love like this. Maybe, Richard would meet another woman—a girl much better than her and this man could live happily.

Anxia felt that she was not worthy of gaining Richard’s love and that man deserved the best because of the many good things that man had done.

It’s really ironic. Anxia had committed countless sins, but her heart fell for Richard—a guy filled with the warmth of an angel. And now… Anxia pulled her husband down to hell, making herself feel even more guilty.

Anxia loosened her embrace and shifted back slightly to look at her husband. Her hands rose to cup her husband’s face, and her heart broke apart ??when she saw the sad look on her husband.

The discouraged, hopelessness, and worry that filled in the man’s eyes did not match his nature. Richard was more suitable to be cheerful, mischievous, and sometimes unreasonable to get what he wanted.

“What about you? What can I do for you?” Anxia failed to keep her voice steady. Her voice sounded shaky and hoarse when she asked.

Richard held his wife’s hands that cupped her face gently. “I want to see you smile again. Let’s forget about all of this. It’s enough to have each other like this, isn’t it?”

“Yeah. Let’s do that.”

Richard leaned his forehead against his wife’s forehead—the last drop of tears escaped from the couple’s eyes.
